I was reading about this earlier in the week in the book of John.  I was particularly struck by something in the story where we read about Jesus washing the disciples' feet.  Christ already knew that Judas was the one who was to betray Him, and yet........   He   washed   his   feet.     He knew what this man was going to do to Him, and yet he washed his feet.  HOW?  I struggle to understand how Jesus did this.  And this is the dilema of most of us, how to go about loving those that don't return that love.  We read in the N.T. about the challenge to love our enemies and pray for those that persecute us.  Well, Jesus displayed this… Read More

What a month!

Wow!!!!!!  As I look back on this first month of the year, I'm still a little in shock at how many miles I ran in preparation for my upcoming race in South Africa.  215 miles in 1 month!  I used to think 100 miles was a lot!  I've now put together back to back 50+ mile weeks, and the distance will only continue to grow.  What's really struck me the past few weeks is what this trip is beginning to mean to me.  Yes, I get to run an amazing race, travel abroad, etc.  But the more I suffer through early morning miles, the more excitement grows in me, knowing that the efforts of me and my teammates will forever impact the lives of so many children… Read More
